Woah, what a surprise! The development team behind the supposed Epsilon BIOS for the Undiluted Platinum modchip has just released the first version of their custom flash replacement, allowing for all of the features of the latest firmware (2.71, possibly the new firmware coming on July 27th as well), as well as maintaining the homebrew capabilities of a 1.5 firmware PSP. 
Quite an achievement! Looks like Sony's advanced security measures have been thwarted once again, and this time, with a very future-proof method. Props to all behind the project as well as the creators of Undiluted Platinum for their hard work. Be sure to read the included documentation for installation and requirement information, and remember, this only works if you have a UP modchip installed, so don't bother using this BIOS otherwise.
